Customer Support Engineer - UK - Hybrid/remote - Broadcast Distribution Technology

We’re hiring a Support Engineer to join a client-facing technical operations team supporting advanced video processing and IP distribution platforms.

This is a hands-on role spanning Level 1–2 support, system commissioning, deployment, and lab validation. You’ll work with mission-critical broadcast and IP-based systems, supporting customers across pre-sales setup through to live operational environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Level 1–2 technical support across hardware, software and IP-based systems
  • Troubleshoot complex faults across broadcast, networking and Linux environments
  • Support system installation, configuration and commissioning (remote & on-site)
  • Assist with major live event support and participate in a 24/7 rota
  • Escalate and collaborate with engineering/R&D on deeper system issues
  • Maintain and optimise the technical lab and demo environments
  • Document solutions and support knowledge sharing
  • Provide technical guidance and training to customers and partners
  • Travel within the UK and internationally when required

Requirements

  • 3–5 years in a technical support, broadcast, telecoms, networking or infrastructure role
  • Experience supporting complex, high-availability systems
  • Comfortable in customer-facing environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Understanding of IP networking (TCP/IP, multicast, routing, firewalls)
  • Familiarity with broadcast/IP standards (SDI, SMPTE ST 2110, RTP, SRT, PTP)
  • Linux/UNIX administration experience
  • Exposure to monitoring tools and ticketing systems
  • Cloud, virtualisation or containerisation (AWS, Docker)
  • Basic scripting (Bash, Python)
  • Experience in video delivery, live production or media workflows
  • Calm, methodical and professional under pressure
  • Clear communicator with strong documentation skills
  • Curious, adaptable and driven to learn
