MCR Operator (Freelance) – London
We are supporting a global broadcast services provider delivering live sports content across a 24/7 operations environment. They are looking for an experienced MCR Operator to join on a freelance basis, supporting high-profile live events and ensuring seamless transmission and monitoring of broadcast services.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage live broadcast feeds across multiple channels and platforms
- Perform real-time fault detection, escalation, and resolution within live environments
- Ensure continuity of service across playout, contribution, and distribution workflows
- Coordinate with engineering, production, and external partners during live events
- Maintain accurate logs, incident reports, and operational documentation
- Support 24/7 shift-based operations (approx. 12 shifts per month)
Requirements
- Proven experience operating within an MCR or broadcast operations environment
- Strong understanding of live sports workflows and transmission chains
- Familiarity with IP-based broadcast technologies (e.g. SMPTE 2110, OTT, contribution feeds)
- Ability to remain calm under pressure in live, time-critical scenarios
- Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills
- Availability for shift work in a 24/7 operation
